Our client, a well-respected and innovative building society seeks a Non-Executive Director to help strengthen an established and well-respected Board.
Playing a critical role in providing oversight, scrutiny, constructive challenge, and leadership to support the Society in delivering its strategic goals and business plans, you will ensure the organisation meets its legal and regulatory obligations while upholding high standards of governance and delivering on the expectations of its members.
Demonstrating exceptional professionalism and integrity, you will offer an independent, external perspective to the Board, contributing to effective decision-making and strategic direction. Building strong, collaborative relationships with the Chair, fellow NEDs, and the Executive team will be essential in helping to shape and realise the Society’s vision, values, and long-term objectives.
The successful candidate will be expected to take an active role in influencing the future direction of the Society and in driving performance through strategic insight and people-focused initiatives. Candidates must bring confidence, personal credibility, and excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills. A high level of intellectual agility, emotional intelligence, and a naturally inquisitive mindset, combined with the presence and confidence to constructively challenge senior leadership, will be key to success in this role..
This appointment is suited to individuals with experience in a UK-regulated financial services firm, ideally with prior exposure to the building society sector. Applications from both experienced Non-Executive Directors and those seeking their first NED appointment will be considered.
