Our client, a UK bank entering a key phase of transformation, now seeks an exceptional Chief Risk Officer to play a pivotal role in shaping the future risk architecture of the Bank.
As Chief Risk Officer you will be tasked with leading and developing the Risk Management function to help shape the direction and future of the Bank, ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are met and that all material risks to which the business is or may be exposed are identified, assessed, measured, mitigated, and reported. Driving a step change in capability, you will promote and enhance a culture of active risk management throughout the business, bring thought leadership to the function and keep the Bank at the forefront of the agenda across the industry and the regulatory environment.
You will be an experienced risk management professional and proven SMF4, with deep expertise in credit and financial risk, alongside experience working within a banking environment as an Executive team member. You will need to be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the UK regulatory landscape and will have extensive experience of operating across all risk classes. Sharp intuition, and judgement, the ability to lead, influence and operate at all levels and demonstrate a strategic mind set, along with the capability to evidence a hands-on proportionate approach, will be key to your success. The role demands a confident, convincing individual with gravitas and strong personal credibility able to effectively engage with and challenge senior internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the Bank’s long-term resilience and strategic development.
