description
Our client is a purpose-driven, innovative financial services organisation poised for significant growth, underpinned by strong capital backing and visionary leadership. As part of its continued commitment to strong governance and prudent risk oversight, the organisation is seeking to appoint a new Chair of Risk following the existing incumbents retirement.
This pivotal non-executive role presents a unique opportunity to further shape the strategic risk agenda of a regulated, high-growth business. The Chair of Risk will lead the Board Risk Committee, ensuring rigorous oversight of the organisation’s risk management framework and will be the designated SMF10.
The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of UK residential mortgage lending and deposit taking with a deep awareness of the various distribution models and associated outsourcing arrangements available. You will already be engaged as a notified NED or be chairing a committee and have operated as a Chief Risk Officer, Chief Financial Officer or CEO within a regulated retail bank or mortgage lender during your executive career. You will therefore, have an extensive understanding of the UK regulatory environment and key regulatory regimes. The ability to work closely with other Board members, executive leadership, and the Chief Risk Officer is critical, as is independence of thought, sound judgment, and the need to balance commercial ambition with risk prudence.
Please note: if you do not hear from us within ten days of your submission, we regret that we will not be progressing with your application.
