Our client, a leading banking services provider who are currently in the process of building a UK bank offering, now seeks an experienced General Counsel to join the executive team and report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The successful individual will act as a trusted subject matter expert providing interpretation and advice to enable the business to act in accordance with relevant governance and regulations. Developing and leading a robust Legal function you will have responsibilities ranging from day-to-day problem solving, through to setting the strategic legal agenda. Furthermore, you will partner with business units to drive change through relevant projects and initiatives and build and foster relationships with external legal firms.
The successful candidate will be a qualified lawyer with significant PQE, gained within regulated financial services, an understanding or experience of working within a fintech and/or payments business would be preferred. You will also be able demonstrate the stature and credibility to inspire confidence at all levels. Sharp intuition and judgement and the ability to be an exceptional people leader and influencer will also be key to the selected individual’s success.
This opportunity is based in London, UK, with a hybrid working pattern offered.
