Our client, a technology driven, highly entrepreneurial commercial bank requires a Chief Risk Officer to report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

As SMF4, you will be responsible for developing and embedding a risk management function to help shape the direction and future of the Bank, as well ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are met and that all material risks to which the business is or may be exposed are identified, assessed, measured, mitigated and reported. Furthermore, as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in the development of business policy and strategy.

You will be expected to drive a step change in capability, promoting and enhancing a culture of active risk management throughout the business; bringing thought leadership to the function; and keeping the Bank at the forefront of the agenda across the industry and the regulatory environment.

An industry leading expert in the field of risk management you will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory landscape and will have extensive experience of operating at a senior level. Sharp intuition and judgement, the ability to lead, influence and operate at all levels and demonstrate a strategic mind set, but with the capability to evidence a hands-on proportionate approach, will be key to your success.

The role demands a confident, charismatic leader with strong personal credibility and influencing skills. You will also possess excellent mental agility, emotional intelligence, and an inquisitive nature, combined with the stature and poise necessary to constructively challenge established senior executive thinking. The role offers an exceptional opportunity to join a growing and innovative bank and to manage a demanding function across a dynamic and evolving portfolio.
